A Jodhpur court on Thursday sentenced Bollywood actor Salman Khan for five-year jail term and also impose penalty of Rs 10,000 in the 1998 blackbuck slay case.
The other accused persons Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre, Neelam and Dushyant Singh were given the benefit of doubt and acquitted in the same case.
The Chief Judicial Magistrate Dev Kumar Khatri, while pronouncing the verdict in the case which was pending since 20 years, called the actor a ‘habitual offender’.
The Salman Khan has been charged under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act and the other accused persons were charged under Section 149 (unlawful assembly) of the Indian Penal Code.
