The first Research and Extension Advisory Council Meeting of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) was held under the chairman ship of Vice-chancellor Dr.V. Praveen Rao, here on Tuesday. Commissioner, Agriculture, Telangana State M.Jagan Mohan, Member Board of Management Committee of PJTSAU Dr. EA. Siddique, Registrar PJTSAU Dr.S. Sudheer Kumar, Director Seed Certification Agency Dr.Keshavulu, several farmers, principal scientists and Heads of Research stations, DAATTC’S, Krishi Vignana Kendras (KVK’s) were participated and gave suggestions on Research and Extension activities of university.
While, delivering presidential remarks Dr.Praveen Rao said the University is evolving the Research and Extension priorities based on the location specific and farmer centric for improvement of productivity and cutting down the productivity costs. The university is striving for the betterment of farmer’s livelihood, social development he said. He also said that, there is a need to validate the organic farm produce and their quality and other aspects.
Dr. M.Jagan Mohan also spoke on this occasion. While addressing the meeting he emphasized the need of collaboration between PJTSAU and agriculture department for delivering better extension services to the farmers. He also explained about the new initiatives taken up by Agriculture Department to ensure agriculture remunerative for farmers.
Earlier, Research & Extension highlights of 2014-15 & 2015-16 were presented by Registrar Dr. S.Sudheer Kumar and Director of Extension Dr. D. Raji Reddy through power point presentation.
