Lucknow: A BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar has been sent to CBI custody by a Lucknow court on Saturday, a day after his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the rape of a 17-year-old girl in Unnao in Uttar Pradesh. The Kuldeep Singh Sengar has been charged under the stringent sexual offense law to protect the children and the Penal Code.
That, After the Allahabad High Court ordered an immediate arrest of the main accused Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the Unnao rape case. The Court says he was influencing the law and order machinery. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested BJP lawmaker Kuldeep Singh Sengar.
While hearing the petition in the case of alleged rape of a 17-year-old girl, the Allahabad High Court on Friday asked the investigating agency to arrest Bangarmau assembly constituency MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in Unnao district by saying officials were directly under his influence.
The Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had agreed to transfer the CBI to this week. To investigate the matter, the government had constituted a special team and the state police refused to arrest Kuldeep Singh Sengar as the CBI was investigating the matter.
