Hyderabad: The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi earlier announced contesting in the Karnataka State Assembly, has decided not to join in this battle.
As per the sources, the party feels that contesting in the Karnataka State Assembly polls, which is scheduled to take place on 12th May 2018, might harm the ‘secular parties’ contesting in the election.
Previously Asaduddin Owaisi had dropped several hints on different occasions about his party picking up suitable candidates from the neighboring state.
The AIMIM has significant presence in district of Hyderabad and Karnataka region of the state and its local unit was all in preparation for the election with short listing of the candidates.
But the party President Asaduddin Owaisi decided to back out from the polls after several rounds of consultation with party leaders. This move comes just a few weeks before the last date of nominations.
