The Indian Council for Agriculture Research (ICAR) has allocated the voluntary center of All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) on Dry Land Agriculture to the Adilabad Agricultural Research Station under control of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU). In this regard a brain storming meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Vice-chancellor, PJTSAU Dr.V.Praveen Rao at committee hall, Administrative Office, here on Tuesday. Director, CRIDA Dr.Sammi Reddy, Project Coordinator, AICRP on Dry Land Agriculture Dr.Ravindra chari, University Officers of PJTSAU, Associate Directors of Research (ADDR’s) of Northern, Central Telangana and Southern Telangana zones were participated in the meeting and shared their views on suitability for voluntary Dry land Agriculture center in the university. ADR’s of the zones were presented their views and suitability to begin ARS getting the center in their respective zones. Director, CRIDA, VC, PJTSAU, Project Coordinator of the AICRP also shared their views on selection of center. Based on the socio economic conditions, Rain fall, Soil erison, low literacy rate, cropping systems, malnutrition, Tribal population, are the reasons for Adilabad was selected to begin the AICRP on Dry land agriculture.
