The Board officials during the inspection of Jeedimetla Industrial area on 20.04.2018 observed a pipeline with chemical traces in the nallah (Drain) on the opposite side (on the other side of the road) of M/s. Athulitha Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., (Formerly M/s. Vegesna Laboratories Pvt. Ltd), Plot No.34, SVCIE, Jeedimetla, Medchal-Malkajgiri District. The industry is a Bulk drug manufacturing unit.
Subsequently, the excavation work was taken-up by the Board officials to track the above pipeline. The excavation work was started from nalla (Drain) side by digging the area between nalla (Drain) and road. An HDPE pipe was observed at a depth of about 5 feet. The excavation was continued in the direction of pipe. On further excavation, an HDPE pipeline was observed at a depth of about 1.5 feet.
The area between road and boundary wall of M/s. Athulitha Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. was excavated. The pipeline was observed to be joining the boundary wall of the industry near transformer. The pipeline was laid across the road through steel pipe.
The inside area of the industry was verified and pieces of HDPE pipelines were observed behind the boiler. These pipelines were seized. Ideography of the entire operation was carried out and Panchanama was done.
The above observations clearly indicated that the above industry is indulging in illegal discharge of effluents into nala (Drain) by using underground pipelines, which is a gross violation and the industry is also not complying with the Board directions & conditions. Hence, the industry was issued with the closure order by the Board on saturday
