Patna: The Income Tax Department has attached an asset worth more than Rs 3 crore near Patna, which is suspected to be an anonymous (Benami) property held by the family members of the RJD chief Lalu Prasad, who is facing investigation in the land scam.
The IT department officials have put an attachment notice to the property said in the Shekhpura locality. A senior IT department official said, “The notice of the attachment had been fixed on the property is estimated worth of Rs 3.5 crore in Sheikhpura area.
The official said that this property is named after the company named FairGrow Holding. He said that some members of Lalu family were directors in the firm “till a few years ago”. He said that apart from Lalu’s son, Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap, daughters Ragini and Chanda, now there are no longer directors of the company.
Conversely, the notice sent to the company was not answered many times and no other claimant of the property had come forward. It suggested that the property was anonymously holding”. Former Bihar Chief Minister Prasad is currently serving sentence in cases of fodder scam.
