New Delhi: Four years after Sunanda Pushkar, wife of Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, She was found dead in the suit in Leela Hotel in the national capital, The Delhi Police filed a charge sheet on Monday.
The charge sheet consisting of about 3,000 pages was filed before the Metropolitan Magistrate Dharmendra Singh in Patiala House Court under sections 498A IPC (husband or his relative subjecting a woman to cruelty) and 306 IPC (abetment of suicide) of the Indian Penal Code. The Pushkar’s husband and Congress MP Tharoor have been named as the accused in this case. The police alleged in his charge sheet that Tharoor had subjected his wife to cruelty.
The Medico-Legal and Forensic proof psychological autopsy opinion that the Sunanda Pushkar case investigation by the SIT of South District, as an investigation during analysis and on the basis of which a charge sheeted under Section 306/498-A IPC and this case now is sub-justice, said Delhi Police.
In the meantime, Tharoor called the charge sheet as preposterous and said that he would fight it vigorously.
