The Dr. C Chandramouli, IAS Secretary, DoPT, Govt. of Indiaaddressed Trainee IAS Officers (2017 batch), Group-I Officers of Government of Telangana,SOs and ASOs of Central Secretariat, Govt. of India, and Junior Assistants at Dr. MCR HRD Institute of Telangana.
The Dr. C Chandramouli, in his keynote address, stated that the contemporary world of work, characterized by an alert social and electronic media, easy access to information under RTI Act,extensive use of Information & Communication Technology, etc.calls for corresponding changes in the role of Government employees. Continuing his address, he called upon the officers to keep their skill setscurrent and up-to-date, learn on a continuous basis, develop readiness to work 24×7, and deliver efficient services to people in a time-bound fashion.
”Need for developing empathy on the part of the officers to understand the problems of people is the need of the hour”, he said and added that Government jobs provide an excellent platform for serving the people, especially their weaker counterparts, and advised the officers to fully use this opportunity.
The B P Acharya,IAS, Spl. Chief Secretary & DG, Dr. MCR HRD Institutesaid that while training is imparted to employees at the higher levels in an ample measure, the need for training for their counterparts at lower levels, whose numbers are mind-boggling,does not receive the importance that it richly deserves. He stated thatCOMMIT e-Learning program, sponsored by DoPT is of great help in imparting training to a larger chunk of employees at lower levels not only in a short period of time but also at a relatively lower cost. While Continuing his address, Acharya saidthat the spectacular success of the COMMIT e-Learning program, sponsored by DoPT and implemented by Dr. MCR HRD Institute in Telangana State,which covered over 20,000 Government employees during 2017-’18, has become a source of inspiration for State Governments from across the country. He added, with a sense of pride, that the Dr. MCR HRD Institute has got an ambitious target of covering over 60,000 Government employees from across 31 districts of Telangana State in 2018-’19.
As a part of the celebrationsof the success of the COMMIT e-Learning program, Dr. Chandramouli gave away certificates to 93 trainee ASOs of Central Secretariat, Govt. of India and 46 trainee Jr. Assistants, who successfully completed the e-Learning program. He also launched the Telugu version of the modules of COMMIT e-Learning program.
Dr. Chandramouliinaugurated Roof Top Solar Power Unit (705 KWP), in the presence of Sri B P Acharya, installed on Godavari Block at a cost of Rs. 3:00 crores, It is one of the ongoing endeavors to convert the Institute intoan eco-friendly green entity.
