The six-week Foundation Course for the first batch of Group-I Officers after the formation of Telangana, conducted by Dr. MCR HRD Institute of Telangana, concluded today.
The Eatala Rajender, Hon’ble Minister for Finance, who was the Chief Guest at the Valedictory Function, said that widespread happiness among people, especially their weaker counterparts, is the real indicator of true and inclusive development, rather than mere aquisition of wealth, possession of luxury gadgets, extensive use of technology, and avalability of physical infrastructure. “Group-I Officers, on account of their important positions in their respective organizations, can increase happiness quotient by providing people-centric governance, being available for people 24×7, welcoming ambience in the offices for a commen man, understanding their genuine problems, and taking decisions, free from all biases, in order to find enduring solutions for them”, he stated.
Continuing his address, Eatala Rajender said that Telangana State, on account of its innovative flagship schemes, has emerged as a role model for other States across the country. “Unlike in Assam and Jharkhand, the present political leadership not only succeeded in getting separate Telangana State but also in providing good governance”, he stated, with a sense of pride. He called upon the Group-I Officers to contribute their might to the growth trajectory of the State by dedicating themselves to the society and such values as honesty, transparency, creativity, and above all, multifaceted development of the poorest of the poor..
The B P Acharya, IAS, Spl. Chief Secretary to Government & DG, Dr. MCR HRD Institute of Telangana said that while knowledge about job is important in its own right, the ultimate success of an officer primarily depends upon his right attitudes and deep commitment to serve the society. He said that an officer, despite his best intentions, cannot achieve best and the brightest results, when he works is isolation. He, therefore, advised them to come out of their respective shells and work with their counterparts from other services as a single team. “Developing the quality of empathy by the Group-I Officers in order to understand the felt needs and true problems, from people’s point of view, is a precondition for the conceptualization and deliver of innovative services at their doorsteps“, he added.
The Eatala Rajender went around Mahatma Gandhi Mobile Digital Museum Bus, near Tungabhadra Block. The students of TS Residential School for Boys, Borabanda, who were invited on this occasion, were mesmerized with the details about the Museum
The Eatala Rajender presented certificates, medals, and awards to the Officers. Miss. Deepti Naini bagged the prestigious trophy for best all-round performance. Miss Vani Nelluri and Mr. Ajmeera Sridas were awarded the trophies for best performance in Academic and Non Academic spheres, respectively.
Dr. Shaik Mohammed Nabi, Cource Director welcomed the gathering and presented a report on the Foundation Course. B Venkateswara Rao, IAS, ADG proposed a vote of thanks. Dr. R Madhavi, Course Coordinator conducted proceedings of the function.
