The Honourable Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao congratulated and complimented CMD GENCO & TRANSCO D Prabhakar Rao, on his department recording the highest demand of 10,000 MWs today. For the first time in the history, on Tuesday forenoon in the Telangana State the power demand touched 10,429 MWs. Despite such a high demand, power supply was uninterrupted all over the state and even for a minute no power cut was recorded. On this occasion Chief Minister complimented D Prabhakar Rao when he called on him at Pragathi Bhavan on Tuesday afternoon. CM mentioned that the experience and expertise of CMD Prabhakar Rao having worked for a long time in the department helped in achieving such a great success. The CM said, that, he believed that the power organizations would function better and the power supply would also be better, if for both GENCO &TRANSCO there is a single person leadership for better coordination, and the same has come true now. CM also said, that, the forecast of erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh leaders that if Telangana state is formed, the state would plunge into darkness has been proved wrong, and the state has reached to a stage of supplying round the clock power for all sectors for which everyone should feel proud. CM also congratulated all the staff and officers of the department along with CMD D Prabhakar Rao. CM described the demand of 10,000 plus MWs has an index of development. Even the per captcha utilization of Telangana is 33% percent higher than that of the national average which again is an index of the development said CM. CM opined that in view of round the clock quality power supply which would continue in future also, industries and IT companies are coming in a big way to the state. This would also help ultimately for the development of the state said the Chief Minister. The CM also said, that, due to 24 hours power supply the agriculture production is also increased. CM on this occasion also complimented the department for completing arrangements for supply of adequate power for Mission Bhagiratha and Lift irrigation projects. Thanking the Chief Minister, the CMD D. Prabhakar said, that, because of guidance of CM KCR and encouragement from the government the power organizations could achieve these better results. He said that 11,500 MW of demand is anticipated during the Kharif season and for this also the department has made all necessary arrangements.
