The Highlights of the weather during the past week (From 04th to 10th August 2018) During the week, Southwest Monsoon remained weak over Telangana state with deficit by -54% over the state as a whole. Subdued rainfall activity prevailed over many parts of the state during the First half of the week. During the Second half of the week, under the influence of Low pressure system over Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood and subsequently concentrated into Depression and movement along Odisha – Chhattisgarh, light to moderate rainfall occurred at a few places over Jayashankar-Bhupalpally, Bhadradri-Kothagudem, Mancherial, Peddapalle and Mahabubabad districts during 6th to 08th August and on 09th August, with the strengthening of south-westerly monsoon wind over the state, moisture convergence and local heating, light to moderate rainfall occurred at many places over Hyderabad & neighbourhood.
The State seasonal rainfall up to 10th August 2018 is deficit with 345.8mm against normal 438.4mm, being deficit by -21%. Out of 584 Manadals: 0.2% of Mandals (1) received large excess, 5% of Mandals (30) received excess, 37% of Mandals (217) received normal, 54% of Mandals (317) received deficit and 3% of Mandals (19) received large deficit rainfall.
The highest rainfall of 62.2mm recorded at Ibrahimpatnam (Rangareddy) on 10th August during the week.

Forecast for next week (From 11th to 17th August 2018)
The present Monsoon conditions over the state indicate, subdued monsoon conditions are expected to continue over many districts during the First half of the week and expected to improve during the Second half of the week. Overall rainfall activity is likely to be below normal over the state.
During the next one week, the day-to-day rainfall activity is expected to be light to moderate Rain at a few places for next THREE days and thereafter, with the expected formation of low pressure system over Bay of Bengal & neighborhood on 13th August, rainfall activity is expected to improve over north and eastern districts of the state with light to moderate Rain at many places during the remaining FOUR days.
