The Legal Metrology Department conducted raids on Shopping Malls and Super Markets in Greater Hyderabad region, complaint of violation of GST and Legal Metrology rules. The Central government has reduced GST rates on some products and totally removed on few products. On receiving several complaints from consumers on several shopping malls and super markets on GST violations, Legal Metrology Department conducted raids on Thursday.
The Legal Metrology Department formed 16 Teams with 32 officers and conducted raids in Manikonda, Madhapur, Hitech City, Bachupally, Kompally, Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Nampally, Serilingampally, Gachibowli, Begum Bazar, Kukatpally, Miyapur, Ameerpet and some other places in Greater Hyderabad region. That 125 cases have been booked so far –Ratnadeep Super Market, Heritage Super Market, More Super Market, Spencers, Big Bazar, Vijetha Super Market, Mahaveer Electrical & Hardware, Bhagavati Paints & Hardware, Big C, Hyper Market and other super markets.
