A sloth bear into the BSNL office complex near collector’s residence. The DFO Karimnagar Mr. Srinivas with staff immediately rushed to the spot and get the area cordoned with the help of forest and police staff. The office complex being protected with the boundary wall helped to avoid entry of animal into nearby houses. The forest staff kept the tight vigil over the movement of animal and restricted entry of people to disturb the animal thereby causing harm to public. Meantime the Rescue equipment including tranquillizer were obtained from Mancherial District and Dr Praveen along with his team were called from Warangal to perform rescue operation. At around 11 Am rescue team reached the spot and after localizing the movement of animal in one of the room’s animal was tranquillized and then caught carefully and put into animal cage. After some time the bear regained consciousness and later on it was safely released into Raligatkur RF of Mancherial in Rescue van .under the supervision of DFO Karimnagar . Whole operation was constantly monitored by Head office to facilitate quick response and action to reduce the time delay . The forest staff took sigh of relief after tranquillizing the bear successfully as the entry of animal into other habitations and houses in the centre of the town would have caused harm to local residents apart from creating panic and disturbance . While discussing the matter with field staff it was known that the bear might have entered into city from nearby hillocks.
