Hyderabad: With the aim to utilize the modern Drone Technology in Agricultural operations, the one and only farm university in the state Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) has signed an Memorandam of Understanding (MoU) with Banglore based AEGIS drone manufactures here on Thursday at Rajendranagar.
The MoU papers were signed by Dr. S.Sudheer Kumar, Registrar, PJTSAU and S.Vinod Kumar, Director, AEGIS Drones manufacturers, in the presence of Vice-Chancellor, PJTSAU Dr. V.Praveen Rao. As part of the MoU PJTSAU can utilize the technical services of AEGIS in diagnosing the pest and diseases in Rice, Maize and cotton crops in the state. Further, it also utilized the drone technology in spraying of pesticides on the crops. While addressing after the signing of MoU Vice-chancellor Dr. Praveen Rao has suggested to the Director of Research, PJTSAU Dr. R.Jagadeeshwar to prepare detailed action plan in consultation with AEGIS organization for effective use of drone technology in agriculture. He further added that to improve skill development on Drone Technology among agricultural graduates to prepare a curriculum for to start one month certificate course on Drone Technology. Which can help to develop the trained manpower in handling of Drone Technology in agricultural operations said Vice-chancellor.
The Directors of local Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR) institutes Dr. Sharathbabu, Dr. Y.G.Prasad, Dr. Saidi Reddy and Member Board of Management, PJTSAU Dr.Umadevi other university officers of PJTSAU Dr. Raji Reddy, Dr. K.V.S.Meenakumari, Dr. Vishnuvardhan Reddy, Mr. Ramesh, Director, AEGIS Kondapalli Suresh were present in this meeting.
