The Inaugural function of the 6th Batch of Forest Range Officers’ Induction Training Programme was held at the TS Forest Academy today. P.K. Jha, IFS. Prl. Chief Conservator of Forests (HoFF) attended as the Chief Guest. In his address, Jha reiterated that FROs are the backbone of the Forest Department. On the one hand, they have to show leadership to guide & mentor their subordinates, and on the other, they have to keep the Senior Officers informed about field realities ad advice them. He opined that only FROs training is done on an All India Level compared to officers of same level in other departments. This exposure widens the horizon of FROs and helps them to grow beyond state boundaries.
The P. Raghuveer, IFS, PCCF presided over the function. He opined that training at TS Forest Academy is very unique in the sense that seminar project is given to FROs to work on an issue of their state and present their opinion. This way they gain good understanding of the Department in their state. The R. Sobha, IFS APCCF (FCA) urged the FROs with life sciences background to help those from Engineering background and vice versa so that mutual benefit occurs among them.
The K. Buchi Rami Reddy, of ‘Vana Premi’ fame called upon the FRO trainees to observe H2O i.e., Honesty, Hard work and Obedience. Sri R.M. Pandey, from Uttarakhand urged FRO trainees to maintain Discipline. That goes to show the Academic excellence in TSFA.
The Dr K. Tirupataiah, IFS Director TSFA informed that the 6th batch FRO strength is 80 so far and it is the highest given to any forest training institute in India.
The B. Venkateshwar Rao Course Director gave brief description of the age, education background and states of trainees. Smt A. Nagamani proposed a vote of thanks. FRO trainees from Uttarakhand, FSO, FBO trainees of TSFA, FCRI students faculty and others numbering over 300 participated in the function.
