The C. ParthaSarathi, IAS, APC & Principal Secretary, Government of Telangana and Dr. K. Keshavulu, Director, Telangana State Seed & Organic Certification Authority, had meeting with of FAO Strategic Teams on Telangana Agricultural developments, coordinated by Kakoli of FAO, Rome.
That During their interaction, Mr. C. ParthaSarathi has given details of all the schemes relating to agriculture, Horticulture and Marketing initiatives implemented in the Telangana State also made a brief presentation on innovative schemes. It included Decentralised input supply, Recruitment of AEOs provided with Tabs, Farm mechanization, Micro-irrigation, establishment of two Centres of Excellence for Horticulture crops, e-NAM and other marketing schemes and MSP support operations, besides Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima.
• The FAO Strategic Teams were impressed by innovative agriculture developmental and welfare programmes taken up in Telangana within a short period after formation of State
• They expressed that there is a need to work together for benefit of the farmers across the globe to ensure food security, by sharing the best practices.
• They were particularly impressed by the performance of AEOs in using the Tabs and Technology in delivering Investment support and Group insurance claim settlements in a time bound manner, with the help of NIC and LIC.
Meeting with Indian embassy at Rome, Italy.
Later, we had a meeting with H.E. Ambassador of India to Italy Mrs. Reenat Sandhu, and Smt. Gloria Gangte, Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM), Indian Embassy in Italy along with their officials, during their interaction, they discussed in detail on agriculture developmental activities in the Telangana State. H. E, Ambassador thanked Mr. Parthasarathi for representing India in this important meeting in FAO and sharing all the developments of Telangana
• They expressed happiness that, Government of Telangana has presented Indian agriculture scenario at FAO on behalf of Government of India.
• They have shown lot of interest in knowing the details of Infrastructural investments made for the long term benefit of farmers such as Major, medium irrigation projects, Kakatiya mission, Power sector and Warehousing (godowns).
