The Additional Project Director, Telangana State AIDS Control Society has informed that 1st December is observed as World AIDS Day across the world to spread awareness on HIV prevention treatment care and support activities by conducting walks, runs, bike rallies, mega meetings etc.
In these rallies, meetings and runs, youths, VIPs local celebrities, HIV infected and affected people and also vulnerable populations like commercial sex workers are also involved.
The Telangana State AIDS Control Society is conducting World AIDS Day in a big way propagating this year’s theme “KNOW YOUR STATUS” sending a call to everybody to come forward to know their HIV status.
As a part of this 10k Marathon is planned in which five thousand people are expected to participate. State VIPs like Hon’ble Governor, IAS Officers and some of Celebrities from Telugu Film Industry are also expected to take part in the event. The Marathon shall take place in the necklace road from 5.00 AM to 9.00 AM.
