The Sahasra Chandiyagam performed by Honorable Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao along with his wife has been commenced at 11 a.m. at Yerravalli farmhouse Yagna Vatika amidst vedic recitations. From Visakhapatnam Sharada pitam its seer Sri Sri Sri Swaroopanandendra Saraswati specially attended and under his directions the rituals were conducted. Sringeri peetam seer Tangirala sitarama sastry from karnataka, Madugula Manikya Somayajulu, Rig Veda pandit Narendra Kapre and other prominent seers lead the yagnam. Nearly 300 rutviks, performed durga saptsati parayanam and have made special vehicle with thousand modaks before the commencement of the ritual. Later rituals were performed before the cows and prayers were offered to the gurus. Four yagnam were conducted for about 3 hours by Chief Minister along with his wife. As part of the rituals those couples who have celebrated golden jubilee in their marital life were offered prayers besides kanyakumari pooja has also been performed.
The State legislative council chairman Swami Goud, Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy, Home Minister Mahmood Ali, TRS Secretary General K Kesava Rao, Medak Lok Sabha member Prabhakar Reddy and several other prominent persons have taken part in the yagnam. The Five day yagnam will be concluded on Friday afternoon after poornaahuti.
The five day SahasraChandiYagam commenced at the farm house of the Chief Minister K.Chandrashekhar Rao in Yerravalli village of Siddipet District amidst vedic chants on Monday morning. The Under the stewardship of Swami Swaroopanandaswamy from Vizag peetham, with the blessings of Jagadguru Sringeri Peetadhipati Bharathi Teertha Swamy the Chief Minister along with his wife performed various ritutal. Several MPs, MLAs, MLCs, CM Family members participated in the programme.
Rituals were performed for the overall benefit of the people, successful continuation of welfare and development initiatives, abundant rains with bountiful of produce. Further they prayed for the country and for a better administration. From various places nearly 300 seers have participated in the yagam.
