For the second year in succession, Telangana ranks number 1 in e-Learning training program of Dept of Personal and Training (DoPT), Government India. During the financial year 2018-19, Dr MCR HRD Institute enrolled over 20, 000 field staff in different districts of the State to impart training on 12 soft skills modules and three domain-specific modules on RTI, Office Procedures, and Finance & Accounts, apart from Sustainable Development Goals. During the last two years, over 40, 000 field staff belonging to different departments were trained in the State that marks a new milestone in achieving the goal of ‘training for all’.
This was mainly possible by following a decentralized mode by involving District Administration and Regional Training Centers of Dr MCR HRD Institutes located in erstwhile District headquarters. To ensure decentralized implementation of the e-Learning training program, fully equipped and dedicated computer labs were set up by Dr MCR HRD Institute in all its Regional Training Centers.
The B P Acharya, IAS, DG, Dr MCR HRD Institute and Spl Chief Secretary to Government thanked all the District Collectors and staff of the Institute in achieving this milestone and expressed the hope that this would pave the way for domain-specific department-wise e-Learning training modules for field staff in future.
Role of the Institute in e-Learning at National Level
At the request of the Government of India, Dr MCR HRD Institute is mentoring other States such as Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, J & K, Odisha, Uttarakhand, and Gujrat to train the trainers for e-Learning training program and develop modules in regional languages in order to spread the Comprehensive Online Modified Modules on Induction Training (COMMIT) Program as a national mission.
At the request of NITI Aayog and Government of India, a national module on SDGs was also prepared by Dr MCR HRD Institute.
The B P Acharya, IAS thanked the Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India for reposing confidence in Dr MCR HRD Institute for allotting a challenging target of 20, 000, which was successfully achieved. He requested the Government of India to allot a target of
40, 000 during the current financial year, that is, 2019-20, in order to cater to the growing needs of field staff in the new districts of Telangana.
