TS Intermediate Re-verification of Failed Candidates Answer Scripts with Fail Marks
• Total No. of candidates appeared for IPE March 2019 – 9,43,005
• Total No. of candidates passed the examination – 5,60,889
• Total No. of candidates failed – 3,82,116
• As per the directions of the Hon’ble High court the Re-verification of the failed candidates answer scripts has been started on 26-04-2019
• Total No. of answer scripts to be re verified by the examiners – 9,02,429
• No. of spot valuation camps established for re-verification -12
Timelines to complete Re-verification of answer scripts with failed marks:
Infrastructural Arrangements – The process of Re verification involves usage of materials like Computers, Bar Code Readers, Book scanners and arrangements of rooms for re-verification. Data Entry Operators are also needed to enter the data. So arrangements for this began soon after the Hon’ble High court order on 24-04-2019. Since the time was short even the help of District Collectors of 10 districts was taken and Coordination was done through daily Video Conference.
Segregation of failed answer scripts:
• All the answer scripts are preserved in the spot valuation centres.
• These answer scripts are without OMR part – I which contains the student information like hall ticket No, name, centre No etc., as they were detached from the OMR before evaluation at spot valuation camp and kept under the custody of camp officer (Confidential material) and also without OMR Part – III as they were sent to the Board after bubbling the marks for scanning.
• The answer script available in the spot valuation camp is without any information of the candidate either in the form of hall ticket number or in the form of bar code number and it is with OMR part – II on which question wise marks are posted by the examiner.
• As per the directions of the Hon’ble High Court to conduct Re verification of all the answer scripts with fail marks, the answer scripts which were coded earlier were segregated with the help of junior Lecturers by 01-05-2019. For this the Board has utilized the services of 2,400 lecturers per day and completed the work.
Re-verification of answer scripts – Board has appointed 5,831 qualified lecturers as Chief Examiners and Assistant examiners and completed the re-verification of 9.02 lakh answer scripts by 05-05-2019
Digitization of marks after re-verification – The information like, Bar code number printed on the OMR Part – II, Marks awarded by the examiner earlier i.e., before publication of results and marks awarded after re-verification was computerized at spot valuation camp.
• For this the Board used 300 computers and 600 data entry operators in day and night shifts and completed the work by 14-05-2019.
• Mapping of hall ticket numbers with the bar code number by linking the two database was completed by 14-05-2019
• Integration testing and load testing was completed by 14-05-2019
Scanning of answer scripts –
• The Board has under taken the scanning of all the failed answer scripts to enable the student to download his / her answer script after re-verification
• Scanning of answer scripts was completed by 26-05-2019.
• The agency has completed the scanning of all the 9,02,429 answer scripts (19788 answer books scanning is under progress), each containing 25 pages (inclusive of 24 pages answer booklet and 01 page of OMR sheet)- Total pages to be scanned 25 x 9,02,429 i.e., 2,25,60,725
• As per the directions of the Hon’ble high Court, the candidate will be allowed to download the revised marks as well as the scanned copy of the answer script from 27-05-2019 evening along with the subject wise result
Parallel Agency to process Re-verification results –
• As per the recommendations of the Three Men Committee appointed by the Government, TSBIE has requested the TSTS to identify a suitable agency by 04-05-2019 to process the RVRC data of failed candidates parallel and simultaneously along with the existing agency.
• Accordingly, Datatech Methodex has been identified as second agency.
• The above agency has developed a program process the results and also to host the RVRC data (Candidate wise and subject wise existing marks and revised marks after RVRC or no change information) in the TSBIE website.
Re-verification results of the failed candidates –
• The re-verification of 9,02,429 answer scripts pertaining to 3,82,116 failed candidates has been completed. The second level checking using Artificial Intelligence (AI) method and scanning for 19,788 answer scripts is still under process. All efforts are being made to complete second level testing, scanning and uploading by tonight or tomorrow.
• After re-verifying the answer scripts of the failed candidates – 1137 candidates are declared to have passed in the re-verification.
• Out of this, 552 candidates are from second year and 585 candidates are from first year
• These second year 552 candidates are eligible to pursue their higher education
• Out of the above 1137 candidates –
• 88 candidates passed examination due to gaining of 1 mark
• 156 candidates passed examination due to gaining of 2 marks
• 161 candidates passed examination due to gaining of 3 marks
• 140 candidates passed examination due to gaining of 4 marks
• 95 candidates passed examination due to gaining of 5 marks
• 497 candidates passed examination due to gaining of 6 and above marks
Role of Lectures and Software agencies in Re-verification process:
• The re-verification of the answer scripts was done by senior most Junior Lectures in twelve spot valuation centers across the state.
• The scanning of answer scripts after re-verification was done by the Software agency.
• The result processing was completed by the existing agency and parallelly tested by Datatech Methodex Pvt. Ltd.
• The technical team from JNTU Hyderabad has supervised the entire result processing by the existing Software agency and the parallel testing done by Datatech Methodex agency.

Re-verification results of the Students committed suicide / attempted:
• A total 23 students committed suicide and 3 students attempted suicide.
• Out of 23 students who committed suicide 20 have failed and 2 students have already passed and one student committed suicide after completion of 3 exams in which she passed all the 3 subjects.
• A total of 53 answer scripts belonging to 23 students in their fail subjects were also reverified by the selected regular Junior Lectures.
• It was observed that there is no change in their results status from fail to pass.
• There reverified answer scripts were also kept in the web site for downloading.

• The Hall Ticket numbers of the March 2019 failed candidates who have passed after Re-verification can be viewed in http://bie.telangana.gov.in.
• The results of Re-verification marks and scanned answer books of all candidates can be viewed and downloaded in http://bie.telangana.gov.in.
• The results of already passed candidates, who have applied for Re-
verification and Re-counting will be kept in the TSBIE website i.e., http://bie.telangana.gov.in within 3 days.

The fee paid by 21,537 students who failed in the Intermediate examinations conducted in March, 2019, shall be refunded after 12-06-2019, since the board undertook the revaluation of all failed candidates free of cost.
