Hyderabad: A self-styled godman was held for allegedly repeatedly raping a girl on the pretext of shooing away evils from her house in Borabanda area in the limits of SR Nagar police station of Hyderabad.
The accused identified as Azam and the Victim 19-year-old girl are resident of the same locality. The accused person first got acquaintance with the girl and started visiting her house. Later on he suggested to her parents that their house was under the shroud of evil forces and need to be removed from the house. The accused also suggested the family to visit a Dargah in Bidar district of Karnataka to in order to remove evils, police said.
The accused person accompanied with the victim family to the dargah, in the middle of the way he lured the victim girl and raped her in a Lodge and after return from the Bidar, Accused visited the victim house and ask her parents to stay outside house while he recited some hymen to scare off the evils. That On finding the victim girl alone in the house, the accused once again raped her, Police said.
The girl was sent to Bharosa centre for medical assistance and counseling and SR Nagar Police Station registered a case under section 376 (punishment of rape) of the Indian Penal Code and sent the accused to judicial remand, further investigation is going on, police said.
