The Ikebana International Hyderabad Chapter #250 organised -“A Mélange of Art and Literature “on 14th August at Hotel Haritha Plaza, Begumpet, Secunderabad. The President of the I.I. Hyderabad Chapter, Hokiku Vineetha Kumar said that the Chapter’s monthly meet was held to celebrate the much-acclaimed best seller book “Selfie of Success” authored by the Tourism Secretary of Govt. of Telangana, Shri Burra Venkatesham, IAS.
The book “Selfie of Success” provides a comprehensive glimpse into all aspects of success with real-life experiences of celebrities and others adding their life stories and how they rose from rock bottom to great heights.
The I.I. Hyderabad Chapter also conducted a Floral demonstration by Mrs Rama B. Rama Murthy, a renowned floral artist well versed in Ikebana and Dutch floral art from the city of Bengaluru.
Mrs. Rama conducted many exhibitions and successfully showcased her innovative and thematic floral arrangements at the Lalbagh since 2003 and also in various organizations.
The Tourism and cultural department of Telangana have been a great support in spreading the art of Ikebana and sponsored the Ikebana International Hyderabad Chapter in organizing the Ikebana floral festival during the Bathukamma celebrations in the state in the past.
The Ikebana International Hyderabad Chapter, Members meet every month over interesting workshops, exhibitions, Japanese culture programmes and Indo Japanese fusion events and more. The members work hard at promoting Ikebana, spreading the awareness of nature and environmental issues.
The interesting rendezvous of Art and Literature was well appreciated and enjoyed by the Members and Guests alike. The experiences of writing a holistic book on success shared by the author and the spectacular floral art created by the artist left everyone spellbound. Truly an ode to the creative expressions on prose and poetic floral art and a celebration of die hard spirit and Life!!
