The International Persian Summer School conceptualised by University of Gottingen, Germany being conducted at Telangana State Archives and Research Institute from 23 to 28 August 2019 ended today with the students from Harvard ,YALE, Michigan, California ,ELTE Hungary, University of Warsaw Poland , University of Napler Italy , Universities of Singapore and Tehran getting amazed and become cynosure of their eyes due to the huge quantum and unique Manuscripts preserved in the State Archives.
An Memorandum of understanding was also signed with Eva Orthamann, Head of the Department, Iranian Studies, University of Gottingen, Germany in this regard.
This four-day school focusing on “Reading and Analysing Indo-Persian Records” has provided the opportunity to 28 scholars from foreign universities to dofirst-hand study on the original Manuscripts dated back to 1406 A.D. These manuscripts in classical Persian language pertain to Bahmani, AdilShahi, QutbShahi, Mughals and AsafJahi dynasties.
Dr. ZareenaParveen , Director ,Telangana State Archives, Coordinator and Convener of the program who is an expert of ornamental Persian took the classes, explained and trained the scholar about the deciphering techniques of the Manuscripts of QutbShahiAdilShahi and Mughals She took the classes on the topics of Sigilliography ,Legend System, Forgeries, Record Management, conservation and preservation and Enemies of Records etc.
Prof.Chandrasekhar , Department of Persian , Delhi University the president and coordinator of the function took the classes of deciphering and analysing of the Shikista Persian through the Manuscripts of Banda Nawaz collection ,He elaborated the script, strokes, seals , short forms and the meaning of each letter and word of the manuscript .
The students late visited the Museum of State Archives where rare and valuable documents are at display and expressed their wonderment and said that They have never came across such a beautiful and rare collection of Persian documents of Medieval history anywhere in the world.
