The Dr. MCR HRD Institute of Telangana conducted an “Army Symposium “for the Trainee Civil Servants on November 30th, 2019.As a part of this, the Army HQ conducted an Army Essay Competition, 2019 on “Kashmir Today & Tomorrow: Security Challenges” for the trainee Civil Servants attending the 94th Foundation Course.
Major General R K Singh, General Officer Commanding, Telangana and Andhra Sub Area, who was the Chief Guest at the event, gave away Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals to Mr Avinash Pandey, IRS (C & CE), Miss Aruna Arora, IES, and Mr Raushan Kumar, IPS, respectively in the Essay Competition. On this occasion, Major General R K Singh delivered a keynote address on the theme of the Army Symposium, “Kashmir Today & Tomorrow: Security Challenges”, and covered wide-ranging issues with respect to the existing situation in Jammu & Kashmir and recommended strategies and way forward for dealing with them. He also congratulated the medal winning trainee Civil Servants and conveyed best wishes for their future accomplishments. The winners of the medals in the Army Essay competition too spoke on the theme of the Army Symposium.
The B P Acharya, IAS, Spl. Chief Secretary to Government & Director General, Dr. MCR HRD Institute, who spoke on the occasion, said that people keep the armed forces in high esteem considering their innumerable sacrifices in protecting borders of the country. Continuing his address, he stated that the Army Symposium is a platform to understand the areas of Civil-Military collaboration which will be greatly instrumental in delivering good governance. “There is a pressing need to sensitise the trainee Civil Servants on issues relating to national security, considering the facts that many of them may not get an opportunity to work with the armed forces”, he added.
On this occasion, Major General R K Singh and Sri B P Acharya, IAS gave away prizes to the winners in different competitions. Senior Army Officers form Telangana and Andhra Sub Area, Faculty and Staff of the Institute also graced the occasion. Earlier, Harpreet Singh, IAS, ADG welcomed the gathering. P K Sharma, IFS (Retd.), Chief Consultant (Foundation Course) proposed a vote of thanks. Mr Rohan Jagadeesh, IPS and Mr Joydeep Moitra, IRTS conducted the proceedings of the event.
