The highly prestigious 94th Foundation Course for Trainee Civil Servants, organized by Dr. MCR HRD Institute of Telangana under the aegis of LBSNAA, Mussoorie and DoPT, Government of India, came to a spectacular end today.
The Venkaiah Naidu,Hon’ble Vice President of India, who was the Chief Guest at the Valedictory Function, said that the Civil Servants have got the rare opportunity to bring a qualitative change in the lives of people across the country. He stated that the growth trajectory of India has been quite impressive and advised the young civil servants to contribute their optimum best to give a further boost to it. He opined that India’s growth story would gain the much required momentum and direction when all the Civil Services work together in unison, complementing and supporting each other, with their specific domain experiences and expertise.
The Venkaiah Naidu underlined the need for multifaceted development of people residing in the rural areas so as to ensure that they join the mainstream as equal partners. “In order to achieve this cherished goal, good governance is the only mantra”, he stated.
The Venkaiah Naidu advised the young Civil Servants to ensure that the fruits of development reach the weaker sections of society and that they feel there is a perceptible improvement in their quality of their lives. He stated that this is possible only if governance becomes corruption free, citizen-centric, and business friendly.
The Venkaiah Naidu said that women have inherent potential and, therefore, underlined the need for providingequal opportunities to them for their development and that of the country. “A country that was known as the Vishwa Guru must put an end to inequalities”, he stated.
The Venkaiah Naidu said that rape is a shame. “While strong legislation to curb this phenomenon is important is its own right, the need of the hour is to change the mind-set of peopleand revive our values of respect for women which are embedded in our culture.
The Venkaiah Naidu stated that our cultural values, based on VasudhaivaKutumbakam, are what make India unique. “We also must protect nature. Nature and Culture for a better future”,is the slogan that the Vice President coined.
The M Venkaiah Naidu presented awards to Ms. Shreya Gupta, IPS (Best All Round Performance), Mr Tanay Shankar, IRS–IT (Best Performance in Academics), Mr M Venkateshwaran, IFS (Best Performance in Sports), Ms. Amelia Betsy C, ISS (Esprit de Corps), and also to toppers in different subjects. He also released a copy of the house journal, brought out by the House Journal Society of the 94th Foundation Course.
The B P Acharya, Special Chief Secretary to Govt. of Telangana & DG, Dr. MCR HRD Institute of Telangana, in his welcome address, said that the prime objective of the Foundation Course was to develop the personalities of the Officer Trainees by equipping them with a core set of values, skills, and knowledge for success in their careers. “This cherished goal was achieved through a fusion of academic, outdoor, extra-curricular, and co-curricular activities during the course of the Foundation Course”, he added.
The Rasmi Chowdhary, Joint Secretary, DoPT said that Officer are trained together to build inter-service camaraderie and cooperation. “This would lead to smoother functioning of Government”, she said. On this occasion, floral tributes were offered to the portrait of Dr B R Ambedkar. Mohammad Mahmood Ali, Hon’ble Home Minister, Telangana State also graced the event. Harpreet Singh, ADGof the Institute proposed a vote of thanks.
