The 80th All India Industrial Exhibition, 2020, organised by the Exhibition Society will be inaugurated on 1st January, 2020.
The Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Hon’ble Minister for Home, Prisons & Fire Services, Govt. of Telangana and Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Hon’ble Minister for Animal Husbandry, Fisheries & Cinematography, Govt. of Telangana, have consented to inaugurate the Exhibition. Eatala Rajender, Hon’ble Minister for Medical, Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Telangana and President, Exhibition Society, will preside.
A Brief History of Exhibition Society
The Exhibition Society is a non-profit organization registered under the Companies Act 1956. It was started in 1938 to promote industrial development in the erstwhile Hyderabad State by organizing industrial exhibitions to promote products manufactured by small and medium scale industries within the country with an objective to promote social, economic and industrial environment in the state in particular and in the country in general.
The Exhibition Society is an 80-year old organisation. Members of the Exhibition Society are from various walks of life including, Politicians, Govt. Servants, Advocates, Engineers and IT professionals, etc.
The 1st Exhibition was conducted at Public Gardens in 1938. The venue of Exhibition was shifted to the present Exhibition Grounds in 1946. The Exhibition Society celebrated its Silver Jubilee in 1965, Golden Jubilee in 1998, Diamond Jubilee in 2000 and Platinum Jubilee in 2015.
The proceeds generated from the AIIE is utilised for sponsoring and managing 18 Educational Institutions located in the backward areas of Telangana, giving quality educating to about 30,000 students every year.
On an average 20 lakh visitors attend the All India Industrial Exhibition every year. The Exhibition Society has been successfully conducting the Numaish every year for the past 79 years. It is a heritage event closely woven into the ethos and history of Hyderabad. The citizens of Hyderabad anxiously and eagerly await for the Exhibition every year.
Many Govt. Departments, such as, Police, Fire & Disaster Management, Electricity, GHMC, R&B, RTC, Metro, etc., participate and facilitate in the smooth conduct of the AIIE.
80th All India Industrial Exhibition (Numaish)
This year the 80th All India Industrial Exhibition (Numaish) will be held from 1st January 2020 to 15th February 2020. About 2,000 stalls have been allotted to various exhibitors, including State & Central Government Departments, Public Sector Undertakings, Corporates and Multinational Companies. To encourage budding artists and enhance their skills, competitions in artisan events will be conducted and prizes would be given to the winners.
The Exhibition Grounds is connected by Hyderabad Metro Rail from Gandhi Bhavan and Nampally Metro Stations on Red Line (Miyapur to LB Nagar). HMR has agreed to run extra metro trains with increased frequency for the convenience of the visitors to the Exhibition up to 11.30 pm. Special counters are arranged in the Exhibition Grounds for purchasing Metro Train Tickets.
The Exhibition Society in collaboration with Yashoda Group of Hospitals is offering the following Health Services at affordable rates at the Medical Check-up Centre put up during the Exhibition:
• Specialty Camps – Cardiology, Orthopaedics, Diabetology, Gynaecology, etc.
• Discount coupons for Health Check-ups and O.P. Investigations to all the visitors at M/s.Yashoda Group of Hospitals, Secunderabad/ Hyderabad.
• Services for Medical emergencies are being arranged.

Impact of Activities of Exhibition Society
1. Educational Institutions:
a. The Exhibition Society and Osmania Graduates Association fund and manage 18 educational institutions spread over Telangana.
b. 30,000 students are offered affordable and quality education.
2. Employment & Income Generation:
a. About 2,000 teaching & non-teaching staff are employed in the 18 educational institutions funded and managed by Exhibition Society and Osmania Graduates Association (impacting about 10,000 persons).
b. About 10,000 persons are provided direct and in-direct employment every year by Exhibition Society.
c. About 1,000 enterprises (mostly small & medium category) are given an opportunity to market their products and earn income to sustain for rest of the year.
3. Contribution to Government Revenue:
a. Activities of the Exhibition Society have been generating significant income for the Government since its inception.
b. During 2018-19, the Exhibition Society contributed about Rs.6.90 crores to the Government revenue by way of GST, Trade License Fees, Property Tax, Utility Charges, etc. This amount is expected to increase further during 2019-20.
4. Historical Event:
a. The annual All India Industrial Exhibition (Numaish) organised by the Exhibition Society has become an annual and permanent feature in Hyderabad for the past 8 decades.
b. It has become an all-encompassing and must visit event for the citizens of Hyderabad & Secunderabad, providing entertainment, shopping, culinary delights, etc. for all ages at reasonable cost.
c. It provides an opportunity for people from all walks of life to intermingle and has emerged as a platform for communal harmony and a melting point for various cultures.
The Press & Electronic Media have been extending their support by giving wide publicity for the events conducted by the Exhibition Society. This year also we request you to give wide publicity.

ANNEXURE
MEASURES FOR FIRE & DISASTER PREVENTION & SAFETY DURING 80THALL INDIA INDUSTRIAL EXHIBITION, 2020
The following measures are undertaken by the Exhibition Society for Fire & Disaster Prevention & Safety during the 80th All India Industrial Exhibition from 1st January to 15th February 2020 to ensure a safe and pleasant experience for visitors and exhibitors:
1. The general layout of the exhibition ground is such that the stalls and buildings are well separated & maintained.
2. Total 9 gates, including 3 entry / exit gates and 6 emergency exit gates are provided.
3. Total area of Exhibition Grounds is 32 acres which is divided as follows:
a. Permanent buildings – 11 acres
b. Net area available – 21 acres
c. Stalls area – 7 acres
d. Holding / open areas – 1.5 acres
e. Roads and lawns – 12.5 acres
4. The holding capacity of the Exhibition Grounds is more than 80,000 people. Maximum crowd is expected on weekends and holidays. However, at any given time it has been observed that a maximum of about 30,000 people are present within the Exhibition Grounds including visitors and stall holders.
5. The exhibition runs daily from 3 pm to 10.30 pm on week days and from 3 pm to 11 pm on weekends & holidays from 1st January to 15th February.
6. On an average 20 lakh visitors attend the All India Industrial Exhibition (AIIE) every year.
7. Compared to previous years, number of stalls in 2020 is reduced to provide more open spaces for the public and movement of Fire Engines.
8. The Exhibition Grounds is provided with well laid water pipe ring main type Fixed Fire Protection System, portable Fire Extinguishers, Water Drums and Sand Buckets at regular intervals.
9. Two underground sumps, each holding 1,50,000 litres of water fitted with 2 sets of high-power motors (2,250 LPM 72 HP electrical pump for hydrant, 180 LPM 5 HP Jockey pump and 2,250 LPM 72 HP diesel engine pump); along with underground pipelines running all over the Exhibition Grounds.
10. 80 Water Yard Hydrants at 30-meter intervals each fitted with 2 hose reels of 30 meters each capable of discharging 900 litres / minute and shooting water up to a distance of 50 meters, covering every nook and corner of the Exhibition Grounds are provided.
11. Two Fire Tenders and Fire Motorcycles will be stationed in the Exhibition Grounds.
12. A Fire command centre at a strategic location is placed within the Exhibition Grounds.
13. Electrical Wiring:
a. 100% Underground electrical cabling running approximately for 1.3 km in length have been laid across the Exhibition Grounds replacing overhead electrical lines.
b. 32 Distribution Boxes with MCCBs have been installed for distribution of load equally to all the stalls.
c. Earthing for all stalls and distribution boxes has been done.
d. Electrical wiring to stalls is provided through PVC pipes avoiding loose wiring.
e. Electrical wiring inside the stalls has been done with new copper wire.
f. Each stall is provided with 1KVA MCB, in addition for every 10 stalls 2nd MCB and MCCBs & MCB control at main control board are provided.
g. Iron poles are used for distribution boxes.
14. Power:
a. Total connected load: 2 sub-stations each with 1,300 KVA connected load (total 2,600 KVA)
b. Transformers: 2 sub-stations each with 3 nos. of 500 KVA and 1 no. of 315 KVA transformers
c. Diesel Generator Sets: 6 nos. of 125 KVA capacity each to take care of street lighting, gates, holding areas, etc., in case of power failure
15. Sufficient lighting is provided throughout the Exhibition Grounds, including entry / exit gates and parking areas.
16. Auto-glow signages in English, Telugu and Urdu are provided indicating all entry / exit points, locator maps and information regarding local Police Station, Fire Station and Hospitals for proper and speedy evacuation in times of emergency.
17. Clear routes for smooth movement of fire vehicles and visitors are provided.
18. Well-equipped Medical Centre manned by experienced Doctors and trained medical staff with Ambulances to handle medical emergencies is provided.
19. Public Address System to make regular or emergency announcements is provided.
20. CCTV surveillance with round the clock monitoring is provided.
21. All entry / exit points are manned by experienced security personnel with Dog Squads equipped with DFMD’s and HHMD’s, scanning and frisking all persons entering the Exhibition Grounds.
22. Strict enforcement of prohibition of items such as petroleum products, explosive items, gas cylinders, weapons, cigarettes, contraband material, etc.
23. Three gates for entry & exit, and additional six gates for emergency exits (total 9 gates) along the periphery are provided.
24. Seven Open spaces are provided at various locations for people to assemble during emergencies and easy evacuation from the nearest exit point.
25. Maintenance and cleaning of entire Exhibition Grounds including lifting of debris has been outsourced to a private organization.
26. There are 5 Toilet Blocks in the Exhibition Grounds, with 54 toilets, 45 bathrooms and 75 urinals for gents, and 47 toilets/urinals and 15 bathrooms for ladies. In addition to these, provision is also made for mobile toilets. Maintenance of these toilet blocks has been outsourced to a semi-government organization.
27. Fumigation of entire Exhibition Grounds will be undertaken periodically during the Exhibition period to avoid any Mosquito Menace with the co-operation of GHMC.
28. Drinking water facilities are provided at 4 locations each with 2,500 litres storage capacity for the convenience of the public from our R.O.Water Plant.
29. Parking: Total 9.72 acres spread over:
a. Gruha Kalpa (0.78 acres)
b. Indira Bhavan (1 acre)
c. Commercial Taxes Building (0.26 acre)
d. Warehouse (1.68 acres)
e. Indira Priyadarshini College (3.93 acres)
f. Gagan Vihar (1.34 acres)
g. Chandra Vihar (0.7 acres)
This is more than 40% of the area of Exhibition Grounds. These parking areas will be manned by security personnel and our 40 Volunteers help Traffic Police.
30. Exhibition Society has formed Sub-Committees to look after the various aspects including Volunteers, Internal Security, Watch & Ward, Disaster Management, etc., are manned by 500 trained persons to handle emergency situations and all security aspects.
31. Training programs and mock drills in using fire extinguishers, etc., are conducted for teams handling Disaster Management, Internal Security, Watch & Ward, Volunteers, staff of Exhibition Society and all stall holders by Telangana State Disaster Response & Fire Services Department.
