The Somesh Kumar,IAS., Chief Secretary to Govt., directed all the District Collectors to make necessary arrangements for conducting of Municipal Elections peacefully and complete the process without any problems as per Election Schedule given by the State Election Commission.
The Chief Secretary held a video conference today with District Collectors from BRKR Bhavan. He said that Collectors should involve fully in election process with utmost care. You are aware that it is for the first time highest number of ULB’s (Urban Local Bodies) and Corporations are going for elections Collectors should focus carefully in every aspect like polling staff allotment, printing of ballot papers, procuring of ballot boxes and papers.
The Collectors of Ranga Reddy, Medchal Malkajgiri, Macherial, Sanga Reddy, Nalgonda having more number of Municipalities, extra care have to be taken and understand each municipality. He also said to concentrate more on new municipalities. He advised to prepare a calendar of activities for each day and be more careful on rejected nominations. He emphasized that collectors role is critical, crucial and involve fully in the election process. He interacted with collector’s district wise on their preparedness.
The Arvind Kumar,IAS., Principal Secretary to Govt. (MA&UD) has said that Collectors will have close liaison with Municipal Commissioner stage wise in election process. He instructed the Collectors to send reports regularly to furnish the State Election Commission and to setup a monitoring system in the districts. No leaves to be sanctioned to the election related officers. Unauthorized absence will not be tolerated. He requested to chalk out timeline for each activity during Nominations, Polling and Counting.
