The Foundation Course for 51 directly recruited Assistant Section Officers (ASOs) for Telangana Secretariat, which commenced on December 16th, 2019, concluded on January 10th, 2020. The Course was conducted at Dr MCR HRD Institute of Telangana.
The Adhar Sinha, IAS, Special Chief Secretary (GAD), Govt. of Telangana, who was the Chief Guest at the Valedictory Function, said that the ASOs, who initiate the files, play an important role in the nature and quality of governance. “While the officers at the higher rungs of the administrative hierarchy are important in their own right,the ASOs, though their competence and commitment, can contribute immensely to the development trajectory of the State”, he stated. Continuing his address, Adhar Sinha said that the ultimate success of the entire administrative hierarchy depends on the quality of the work of the ASO. “In order to ensure that the skill set of the ASOs is current and up-to-date, Refresher Training Programs will be conducted at different stages of their career”, he added.
The B P Acharya, IAS, Special Chief Secretary to Govt. of Telangana & DG, Dr. MCR HRD Institute, who spoke on this occasion, said that files should not be treated as mere pieces of paper as they affect the lives of a huge number of people, especially those who belong to weaker sections of society. He, therefore, advised the ASOs to process the files with a humane touch, rather than in a mechanical fashion, and solve the problems of people at large, and thereby contribute their optimum best to achieving the dream of Bangaru Telangana.
The Acharya advised the ASOs to enrich their knowledge of application of information technology in different domains of administration and become proficient, both in English and Telugu languages, in order to contribute their best to their jobs. “Dream big, write different competitive examinations, and touch the commanding heights of their careers”, he advised the ASOs.
The Adhar Sinha presented Director General’s Award for Best All Round Performance to Mr Sreepathi Vadgicharla, to Ms. Thigulla Rohini for Best Performance in Academics, and to Mr RajannaAjmera for Best Performance in Sports. He also presented Course Completion Certificates to the Assistant Section Officers.
Dr S M Nabi, Director (Training), welcomed the gathering and presented a report on the Foundation Course. Harpreet Singh, IAS, ADG of the Institute proposed a vote of thanks A Ashok Kumar, IAS, ADG of the Institute, V Subramani, Deputy Secretary, GAD (Single Unit), and S Appa Rao, OSD, GAD Services, Telangana Secretariat also graced the valedictory function.
