Telangana: As part of the Kaleswaram project visit Honourable Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has reached Godavari Ghat near Kaleswaram-Mukteswaram temple. At Triveni Sangham (Confluence of Godavari, Pranahita, Saraswati river, Triveni the CM threw coins into the confluence and sprayed a few drops of the holy water on his head. He also paid a floral tribute to the water. The CM reached from Godavari Ghatto Sri Kaleswaram-Mukteswaram temple had the Deity’s darshan and offered pooja. After darshan at Kaleswaram Mukteswaram Temple, the CM reached Laxmi(Medigadda) reservoir. The CM held an aerial view of the Laxmi Barrage and dropped coins from the Barrage into river Godavari thereby fulfilling his Telangana Statehood Movement vows. The CM at the View Point made several suggestions to the engineers present there. He instructed E-in-Cs Muralidhar Rao, N Venkateswarlu and OSD Sridhar Deshpande to ensure that flood waters during the coming monsoon should be lifted from the Laxmi Barrage. The CM explained to Irrigation Principal Secretary and former Chief Electoral Officer ajat Kumar on the government priorities in Irrigation, construction of the project only to create an awareness on the subject to Rajat Kumar who became the Principal Secretary Irrigation Rajat Kumar. The CM said it is the responsibility of the engineers to see to it that water from the projects, which were constructed with lot of hard work, should be lifted from time to time and fill the Barrages. From the SRSP, to Kaleswaram project Barrages, reservoirs, lift irrigation pumps, Canals, to the last acre in the Ayacut, the irrigation water should wet the lands and they should be monitored. He wanted division work at every stage, strengthen the engineering network and if need be use wireless network like the police. He wanted the entire Kaleswaram Team to have awareness on which motor is working when, which pump if releasing water, how much water should be lifted? When should water supply be stopped? If work is done with proper coordination, Godavari water can be utilised cent percent and such measures would be taken, the CM said. Later, the CM had lunch at Medigadda and left for Karimnagar. In this visit Ministers Etela Rajender, Koppula Easwar, RS Member J Santosh Kumar, local MLAS D Sridhar Babu, G Venkataramana Reddy, Government Chief Advisor Rajiv Sharma, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, CM Secretary Ms Smita Sabharwal, Irrigation E-in-C Muralidhar Rao, Kaleswaram E-in-C Venkateswarlu, CM OSD Sridhar Deshpande, ZP Chairman Putta Madhu, Municipal Chairman, other public representatives and officials participated.
