New Delhi: The Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has alleged that 90% of the IAS officers “do not work” and said that sometimes they believe development was stuck up in the secretariat”, On the alleged “objection” of the bureaucrats to regularize the constitutional workers, Kejriwal said that if Delhi has full state status, then their government will regularize all contract staff within 24 hours.
The Kejriwal while speaking at a function organized to felicitate pensioners of the Power department alleged that IAS officers “obstructed files” of development works, their proposal for regularization of contractual staff in the form of Chairman of New Delhi Municipal Corporation Corporation Quoting, he said, “90% of them (IAS officers) do not work and hold up files.
“When I offered to get the contract for the contract employees, all the officers protested against me and they said that if regularized they won’t work. I said, if this argument is there, then all the IAS officers should be ad hoc because they are not working,” he said.
Referring to the cashless health service for the power department pensioners, the Chief Minister said that he has found that the officials were creating obstacles for this scheme. “I sometimes think the development was stuck in the secretariat,” he said.
The Kejriwal said that the Labor Department has been asked to prepare a notification to regular employees of the contract. “I have asked the Labor Department to issue notification for LG’s approval. If he stops it, then he (contractual staff) will give him the right answer (Khaat Khadi Kar denge),” Kejriwal said.
Talking about his government’s proposal to regularize guest teachers in the Delhi Assembly recently, he said that this matter is now in the hands of Lieutenant Governor (LG). They said, we have sent the file to LG. Now, it’s between LG and the guest teachers and they themselves can get it out.
The Kejriwal also said that his government was working to implement equal pay for similar work. “We are working on this and my request to you is that if he (LG) produces any obstruction in it, then you will need to solve it,” said the Chief Minister
