The Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development and IT, K.T. Rama Rao inaugurated and laid foundation stones in a series of civil works in Sanathnagar and Secunderabad Constituencies here on Thursday. Minister for Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Cinematography, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Minister for Excise and Prohibition, T.Padma Rao Goud, Minister for Medical, Health and Family Welfare, Dr.C.Laxma Reddy, Minister for Endowment and Housing, Indrakaran Reddy, Mayor B. Ram Mohan, Former Union Minister, Bandaru Dattatreya and others were also present.
The total cost of the civil works was estimated to a whopping Rs.73.66 crores. The works includes foundation stone for laying of road from Kanakadurgamma Temple, Ameerpet to Fatehnagar Flyover at a cost of Rs.25 Crores, Expansion of 25 to 50 bedded hospital at Ameerpet at a cost of Rs.3.28 Crores, Laying foundation stone for BT road at Minister’s Road near the KIMS hospital at cost of Rs.9.20 Crores, Laying of Foundation stone for Secunderabad Library at Monda Market at a cost of Rs.3 Crores, Inauguration of HMWSSSB, Boats Club Reservoir at Ramgopalpet at a cost of Rs. 4.20 Crores and inauguration of Marredpally Reservior at a cost of Rs.11 Crores. The Minister also laid the foundation stone for a Multilevel Parking in about 600 sq. yards of the plot at a cost of Rs.3 Crores so as to create parking space for the devotees visiting Balkampet Yellamma Temple. A Model Market at Pattigadda was also inaugurated by the Minister.
At Fatehnagar Flyover, the convey of the Minister had a brief halt, where the local Muslim community felicitated the Minister. On the lone demand of the locals, the Minister assured to allocate land to the graveyard by purchasing it, in case the government land is not available.
At Bansilalpet, the Minister assured the residents that the registration of lands and issue of patta certificates to the left over cases also would surely be done and informed that Revenue and Endowments Departments have already initiated action on this front. Later, the Minister also inaugurated Multipurpose Function Hall at a cost of Rs.2.5 Crores, which includes cutlery and cooking utensils. He said that the state government is committed to the upliftment of poor and the downtrodden. Two Bedroom houses will be allocated to all the eligible poor in urban areas, he said.
The Minister also laid foundation for construction of sports complex at Ghansmandi, Monda Market at a cost of Rs.2.40 Crores.
Special Chief Secretary, Housing, Ms.Chitra Ramachandran, GHMC Commissioner, Dr.B.Janardhan Reddy and other officials also participated in the programme.
