Jaipur: The Vasundhara Raje government has passed an Ordinance which attempts to protect before and former judges, magistrates and government employees in Rajasthan without examining the duty strict action without its prior approval.
That, On September 7, the Criminal Law (Rajasthan Amendment) Ordinance, 2017, promulgated, also wants to stop the media from reporting on the allegations till the acceptance of proceeding with the investigation.
No magistrate will order an investigation and no investigation will be conducted against any person, who was a judge or magistrate or public servant, “reads the ordinance, which gives the officials 180 days of immunity.
If there is no decision on the approval request after the scheduled time period, then it will automatically mean that approval has been given.
The Ordinance revises the Criminal Code of Procedure, 1973 and in any case, seeks to prohibit publication of public servants’ names, addresses, photos, family details and printing or promotion. The Violation of the section will be a matter of two years’ imprisonment.
