Hyderabad: The dashboard for the District Collectors, called ‘Telangana State District Monitoring System (TSDMS)’ was formally launched by B. P. Acharya, Spl. Chief Secretary, Planning Department in the Collectorate of Ranga Reddy District, in the presence of B. Raghunandhan Rao, District Collector, Ranga Reddy and other senior officers. This Dashboard for Collectors, the first of its kind in the State, was developed by the Planning Department in collaboration with the Centre for Good Governance (CGG), covering as many as 90 parameters involving 20 line departments. This would help the District Collectors to monitor daily progress of various flagship programmes and important activities at the district level on a regular basis. They will also have the information on every household in the district at their fingertips. This dashboard will be extended to all other districts within a fortnight
The B.P.Acharya, Spl. Chief Secretary, Planning Department also presented certificates to the district staff, those who successfully completed the ‘e-learning modules’ taken up by the Government of India (Department of Personnel and Training) in collaboration of Dr. MCR HRDIT. Telangana is one of the 4 states selected by the Government of India for this pilot project, wherein 9000 field staff were trained in different soft skills over a period of 3 months.

The Government of Telangana is introducing various welfare schemes for the Well being of the people of the State. All the departments are responsible for Implement and also to see that the benefits are reached to the right beneficiary.
There are various IT solutions in place to help the departments to monitor their program implementation in a systematic way. To synthesize all these systems and Host all the key information converges on a single point which will contribute to the growth of the departments, “District Monitoring System (DMS)”, also known as Collector’s Dashboard is developed.
The District Monitoring System would display relevant information and data Pertaining to implementation of various schemes consolidated on a single screen. Collectors can access information of all the departments to ascertain the implementation of a specific scheme in their jurisdiction at one point.
DMS is aimed to prepare a key tool in bringing the district administration closer to the citizens, improve the efficiency in governance and to achieve Bangaru (Golden) Telangana
The development of application has been assigned to Centre for Good Governance (CGG) with continues inputs from Planning Department and district Administrators of initial four pilot districts viz., Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar, Warangal (U), Mancherial. The District Collectors of these pilot districts helped in identifying important indicators to monitor and also provided feedback for making this application a success. Other district Collectors also provided their inputs through mails on the indicator identification and flow of information.
DMS application will be available to all the District Collectors as a monitoring tool which comprises of 90 parameters from 20 major departments. Out of 90 parameters 75% are captured online and 25% are captured by manual entry.
As most of the parameters are being captured from the web portals of respective departments, the district administration will be in a position to access the dynamic information from the various departments periodically.
The system will enable the Collectors to choose specific parameters of their choice as ‘favourites’ for frequent monitoring.
