Hyderabad: The National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD&PR), Hyderabad celebrated RashtriyaEktaDiwas – National Unity Day on 31st October 2017. This is to commemorate the birth anniversary of SardarVallabhai Patel, who played a key role in the integration of the princely states in the Republic of India, That, after India got Independence. On RashtriyaEktaDiwas Dr W R Reddy, Director General, NIRD&PR administered the National Unity Pledge among the staff and students of NIRD&PR. Then he flagged off a run for unity, where more than 300 members of the staff and students of PGDRM participated. All of them had white caps with message of national unity, and they carried placards with national unity message and We believe that the National Unity Day “will provide an opportunity to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity and security of our country”.
