Hyderabad: A 40-year-old woman fell victim to clearing protesters by Police Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti (MRPS) from the Collectorate of Hyderabad. She was taken to Osmania General Hospital, where she was declared brought dead.
The MRPS gave a call to its members to (gherao) Collectorate demand for an all-party meeting for the formation of an offer to be sent to the Center for classification of reservations for scheduled caste communities.
In response to this call, MRPS workers gathered in the Hyderabad collectorate to protest at noon. When the officials invited some leaders to enter the office and present their representation, then all the protesters tried to hasten. Police started blocking them from entering the collectorate to arrest them.
The deceased S. Bharati from the Secunderabad Cantonment area collapsed while trying to protest her arrest. She was immediately shifted to Osmania General Hospital (OGH) where she was declared brought dead.
