Gujarat: Nearly 20 days before polling in Gujarat, the Election Commission seized 6.71 Lakh liters of liquor, 1.38 Crore rupees cash and gold seizure more than Rs.8 Crore. The Gujarat is otherwise a dry state. The seizure was made by the surveillance and expenditure monitoring teams appointed by the Election Commission.
The teams have so far suspected the cash amount of Rs 1.38 Crore, 6.71 Lakh liters of liquor and 27.02 kg of gold and other precious metals worth Rs 8.13 Crore. According to official figures, The EC teams have seized different 3.11 million British currencies and 30,000 Thai currencies. The polling organization has appointed 100 poll expense supervisors in Gujarat, in addition to other central supervisors, to prohibit voters from using illegal temptations used to bribe voters.
In the 182-member Gujarat assembly elections, the two phases will go on December 9 and 14. The Counting of votes will be on December 18.
