Hyderabad: A drunk driver rammed his car into a scooter in three women, one of them died on the spot and two other injured at about 1:15 am at Jubilee Hills Road No. 10, the Police arrested the driver, Vishnu Vardhan, owner of the Bright Spots play school.
The deceased was identified as D. Masthani of Srinagar Colony and the surviving person was Anusha and Anusha Reddy.
Inspector of Jubilee Hills said, “Vishnu Vardhan was returning from his friend’s place in Kondapur in his SUV (TS 09 EV 7707),” he said that he was in an inebriated condition, Upon reaching Road number 10; he lost control of the wheel and got into the scooter.
After the accident, he sped away, after driving for about 1 km, he rammed his car on the right side of the road divider, The breathalyzer gave the reading of 200 mg, the police said.
Upon reaching Road No. 10, he lost control over the wheel and rammed into the scooter.
The police reached the spot and moved women to the hospital for treatment. “Masthani died on the spot, while Anusha is said to be in serious condition and Anusha Reddy is out of danger.” Anusha and Mastani resident of Srinagar Colony and Anusha Reddy resident of Kukatpally.
The Jubilee Hills Police arrested Vishnu Vardhan under IPC Section 304 Punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and sections 377 and 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act
