Kannur: The Shyam Prasad, activist of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), was killed on Friday by a group of attackers near the village of Peravur in Kannur.
The 24-year-old Shyam Prasad was a student of Parvur Government ITI and was the native of Kannavam. At around 5:30 pm, he was killed in Komrmeri under Peravur police station limits, police said.
According to the police, while deceased Shyam Prasad riding a bike, three masked Assailants attacked him on the road near the Kommeri goat farm. The deceased to avoid the attackers fled from the scene and tried to take shelter in a nearby house. The attackers followed him, grabbed him and hacked him with sharp weapons, He died during the hospital recruitment, the police said.
The Peravur police said that the investigations are going on to identify the attackers and the purpose of the murder. Police said that no political tension has been noticed in this area recently.
