Hyderabad: The trainees of “International Training on Sustainable Agricultural Strategies for Rural Development” at National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (NIRD & PR) visited the Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU). That they were interacted with the Director of Research, PJTSAU Dr.T.Pradeep and Director International Programmes, PJTSAU Dr.K.Jeevan Rao, Dr.Jeevan Rao explained about the university Teaching, Research and Extension activities through power point presentation at interactive programme organized in university central library. He also explained about the Agricultural scenario in the newly formed Telangana state, and the role of Farm mechanization in cutting down the cost of cultivation and ensuing the profitable agriculture in the state. The participants are 25 in number from 19 countries. They were shown interest in how to get admission in Agricultural Universities to pursue higher education, and also clarified their doubts on farm activities with scientists of the university.
Later-on, the trainees of “International Training were visited the Rice and Mize Research Station at Agricultural Research Institute (ARI) and interact with scientists, who are involved in developing the new varieties in both the crops. They were also visited the Quality Control Lab, Pesticide Residues lab and Millet incubation center in Rajendranagar campus. They were briefed about best practices in Agricultural Research and Education in the university, by the Director of Research.
