Hyderabad: The sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force, North Zone Team in a joint operation with Kamareddy Town Police arrested two Inter-State offenders Hyder and Shaik Aziz who committed theft of Antique God / Goddess Panchaloha idols from temples and Three Antique panchaloha Idols aged about 600 years with an international market value about Rs.3 Crores, Police recovered the idols from the accused possession.
The Police recovered Antique panchaloha idols aged about 600 years are 1) Lord Venugopalaswamy Idol, 2) Goddess Rukmini idol, 3) Goddess Sathyabama Idol
The accused persons as a gang travel by bus or taxi vehicles move in the rural areas abutting towns and conduct reconnaissance of the local area temples wherein antique Panchaloha Gods idols are available with an intention to commit theft of idols. They carry small size Iron rods along with them. They break open lock or latch of temple door or grill by using iron rods and commit theft of Antique Idols. Meanwhile their associates wait outside the temple premises and observe the surroundings in order to alert the accused, in case of any need. After that, they fled away with the stolen property and sell the same to Antique Idol Smugglers.
The arrested accused persons are being handed over to SHO, Kamareddy Town PS along with seized material for further investigation, Commissioner of Police
