The CM has instructed that the Corn harvested in Rabi should be paid the MSP and it should be procured by the State Markfed. The Markfed Chairman Loka Bapureddy and MD Jagan Mohan have met the CM and told him that middlemen are buying Corn at a throw away prices which is resulting in heavy loses to the farmers. They said the government should stand guarantee for taking loans to procure the corn. The CM positively responded to their request and instructed the finance department officials to stand guarantee to the Marked to procure the corn. He also instructed marketing Minister T Harish Rao to open Corn procurement centres all over the state under Markfed and procure corn.
“No farmers should sell the corn for a owner price. Every Corn should be purchased by the marked. We pay Rs 1425/- per quintal and the government will procure the corn. Markfed will open the procurement centres all over the state. Farmers should not take hasty decision to sell the corn at lower price. The government will procure each and every corn. Marketing officials should make arrangements for the procurement at the centres. Farmers should be told that the government would purchase the corn. The farmers should not lose even one rupee,” the CM said.
