One Person Held for spreading Fake News on Social Media

The Cyber Crime Police, Hyderabad City arrested an accused person Eswar Singh @ Akhi Singh who posted videos on Facebook with Fake/False news & spreading rumors on burglars/kidnap gangs through social media which is creating panic among the general public, Police registered a case in Cr. No. 158/2018 and seized a mobile phone which was used in the commission of offence.
That, On 29-05-2018, Police registered a suo-moto case at Cyber Crime Police Station, DD, Hyderabad City on finding a Facebook video with false/fake rumors on burglars/kidnap gangs being posted by one profile ID: Akhi Singh with Profile URL: The video contains tag line as Kids Kidnappers @ Afzal Sagar (MallepallyDivision). The same post was shared by others. The posts containing fake/false news are creating panic in general public and the rumors may induce other persons to commit an offence against others which is against the public tranquility. In spite of giving clarification about rumors through media and social media by Telangana police department, they are deliberately spreading the rumors to create panic in general public and to induce the persons to commit any offence. The Police registered a case against the Facebook users and the general publics are warned not to spread the fake/false news through social media or any other mediatory.
