The Dr. MCR HRD Institute of Telangana hosted an Iftar Party at Shravan Kumar Hall, Tungabhadra Block, which was attended by Officers, Faculty, Staff, and Trainee Group-I Officers of Telangana and Assistant Section Officers from Central Secretariat, New Delhi, in large numbers. The spread of the Iftar was meticulously laid out with traditional dishes of Hyderabad, including “Haleem”, supplemented with a variety of fruits and juices. The prayers, after the iftar, were led by Dr. Anwar Khan, a noted academician.
The B P Acharya, IAS, Special Chief Secretary and DG, Dr MCR HRD Institute said thatiftar parties, which are attended by people belonging to all faiths, representan important hallmark of the “Ganga-Jamunitehzeeb” of Telangana State, which stands as a shining symbol harmony and religious tolerance amongst people professing diverse faiths. He advised the Officer Trainees to further diversify and enrich the composite culture of Telangana State. He called upon them to dedicate themselves to the service of poor. He quoted manycouplets penned by famous Urdu poet, Nida Fazli, to drive home his message.
Dr. Anwar Khan said that fasting has been prescribed by almost all religions since time immemorial. He stated that through fasting, one experiences hunger and thirst, and sympathizes with those who have little to eat and drink every day. “Fasting is not only about keeping away from food and drink; it is also about developing self-control overworldly greed and desires”, Dr. Anwar said and added that fasting results in developing strong personality to inculcate self-control, self-discipline, and self-restraint, so essential to refrain from all types of forbidden acts and social evils.
Dr. Shaik Mohammed Nabi, Director, Training welcomed the gathering and also proposed a vote of thanks.
