The Highlights of the weather during the past week (From 29th September – 5th October 2018). That During the last week, Southwest Monsoon remained weak over Telangana state with large deficit by -77% over the state as a whole. In the absence of any major weather system, light to moderate isolated rain/Thunderstorms are occurred most days of the week.
The State rainfall from 01st June to 05th October 2018 is 665.1mm against normal 743.6mm, being deficit by -11%. Out of 584 Mandals: 1% of Mandals (2) received large excess, 8% of Mandals (45) received excess, 49% of Mandals (284) received normal, 41% of Mandals (247) received deficit and 1% of Mandals (6) received large deficit rainfall.
The highest rainfall of 45mm recorded at Jangaon (Jangaon dist.) on 04th October during the week. (Note: large deficit rainfall (-60 to -99% deviation from normal), deficit (-20 to -59% deviation), normal (-19 to +19% deviation) and excess (+20% to +59% deviation) and large excess (+60% or more)).
Forecast for next week (From 06th to 12th October 2018). The present Monsoon conditions over the state indicate, the low pressure area over southeast Arabian Sea & neighborhood is likely to concentrate into a Depression during the next 48 hours and move northwestwards and likely intensify into Cyclonic Storm and move towards Oman Coast during the next 4-5 days. Another low pressure system is likely to form over south Bay of Bengal and neighborhood around 08th October and likely to concentrate into a Depression and move northwestwards.
However, both the systems shows, there is no major affect on weather over Telangana State during the next one week and light to moderate isolated Rain/Thunderstorms are expected to occur most days of the week. Overall rainfall activity is likely to be below normal during the next one week.
