The Two Accessibility observers have been sent by the ECI to monitor how the election process has been made more accessible in Telangana. Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj IAS (2007, Uttar Pradesh) visited Mahbubnagar and Wanaparthy districts on 26.11.2018 and 27.11.2018 while Ranjana Rajguru IAS (2010, Uttarakhand) visited Yadadri Bhuvanagiri and Karimnagar districts on 26.11.2018 and 27.11.2018. Both the observers interacted with our state PwD icons actor Ms Abhinaya, singer & corporate employee Ms Sravya and Anchor Ms Sujatha. They met the CEO, Telangana Sh Rajat Kumar later to brief him. They appreciated
1) The detailed survey of PwD citizens done across the state which went beyond the limits of PwD citizens who have sadaram certificate.
2) Arrangement for transportation to 100% PwD voters
3) Arrangement of wheelchairs in all polling locations
4) Arrangement of volunteers in all polling locations to assist and coordinate with PwD voters
5) Arrangement of ramp with railings for all polling stations
The observer sh suhas is an international level Para-Badminton player and has won a gold medal at the Asian Paralympic Championship in Beijing recently.
