Hyderabad The Dr. Anup Kumar Nayak, I.F.S., ADG (Project Tiger) & Member Secretary (NTCA), CZA, New Delhi, Govt. of India, visited Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad along with P.K. Jha, I.F.S., Prl. Chief Conservator of Forests (HoFF) & CWLW, T.S., Munindra, I.F.S., Addl. PCCF (Wildlife & Admin), T.S., Dr. Sidhanand Kukrety, I.F.S., Director Zoo Park, T.S., on 04.04.2019.
The N. Kshitija, I.F.S., Curator, Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad, welcomed the Member Secretary and gave a presentation on the activities of Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad. The Member Secretary inaugurated the newly constructed baby feeding centre at the children corner. This is a unique facility provided for the mothers for feeding their babies during their visit to Zoo Park. This facility is available in only one or two zoo’s in the country. The Member Secretary also inaugurated the Barking Deer enclosure and released (04 No’s) animals for the display. Later the Member Secretary visited the zoo veterinary hospital and enquired about the rescue operations conducted by the zoo veterinarians and their treatment particulars and their release into the wild. He also visited the Mouse Deer conservation breeding centre and interacted with the biologist. The biologist explained all the activities and the measures taken up by the Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad, and after successfully breeding the animals were soft released into the wild at Amrabad Tiger Reserve (ATR), Kinnersani Wildlife Sanctuary and Mrugawani National Park.
The N. Kshitija, I.F.S., Curator, Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad, gave a power point presentation on zoo management and various other development works which are carried out during the year and the animal exchange proposals forwarded to Central Zoo Authority (CZA), New Delhi, for kind consideration. Animal adoption scheme brochure is also released by the Member Secretary.
Speaking on the occasion the Member Secretary said that the Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad, is already one of the top zoo’s in the country and promised to provide all necessary assistance from (CZA) for the betterment of the zoo.
