The Enforcement Officers of Telangana Commercial Taxes Department have arrested Ghaziabad (UP) based Kaushik Shakthi Baburam on 23-08-2019 who has evaded GST of Rs.20.08 Crores. He was remanded to judicial custody for 14 days i.e. till 05-09-2019.
He has fraudulently utilised input tax credit and not paying taxes on his outward supplies. Further investigation is under process to detect any other frauds committed by them and to find out the mastermind behind the fraud. Further Kaushik Shakthi Baburam has floated 21 firms all over India including FOUR in Telangana. All the states wherever he has obtained registration will be alerted regarding fraudulent transactions of the accused dealer.
The investigation and entire operation was carried out by Dr. R.Yedukondalu, Deputy Commissioner, Enforcement and his team under supervision of M.S.Reddy, IRS, Special Commissioner, Enforcement, Telangana. In view of the above, Commissioner of State Tax V.Anil Kumar, IAS has warned those tax payers who are indulging in tax evasion that strict action including arrest will be initiated against those fraudulent tax payers.
