On the occasion of Bathukamma festival, Hon’ble Governor in a note said that, “I have great pleasure to convey my warm greetings to people of Telangana, especially the women on the auspicious occasion of Bathukamma Festival.
Bathukamma festival symbolises the cultural spirit of Telangana. Bathukamma is characterized by gathering of flowers and different unique floral arrangements. Flowers like gunuka poolu, tengedu poolu and other flowers like banti, chamanti, nandivardhanam etc., are arranged in beautiful patterns. The worship of Goddess for prosperity, good health and for fulfillment of desires is unique because of its association with flowers. I wish the people of Telangana a happy and joyous Bathukamma Festival”.
