Hyderabad: In a Incident of Misusing Official Police Powers occurred on Thursday, A Hyderabad City, Senior police officer (Assistant Commissioner of Police, Panjagutta Division, Venkateshwarlu) has been caught on camera, aggressively pushing, Abusing and assaulting journalists outside the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s camp office at Pragati Bhavan.
The video of the incident clearly shows that the police officer walking out from the CM camp office to meet media persons. The officer then walks away from them towards the protest taking place outside the CM camp office, when the woman reporter from (10TV) follow and asked a question, the officer become angry and pushed her away, Even the reporter repeatedly ask to the officer and also asked him how he could manhandle a woman reporter and the officer turns around and push away other reporters and camera persons from other local News channels.
The police are not concern that the protesters were women and the police was thrashing and assaulting the protesters, the reporter has just asked the officer how police personals can thrash the protesters in this manner, especially when it was a women and the officer turned, assaulted, Abused and attacked the cameramen and reporters of V6 Telugu and TV5 News, Reporter said.
The Reporter lodged a complaint against the officer in Punjagutta Police Station for Necessary action against the police officer.
The Telangana Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ) has strongly condemned the assault and meet the DGP Anurag Sharma and ask him immediate and necessary action against the Punjagutta Police officers for misbehavior and the DGP promptly ordered an enquiry into the incident and also assured the necessary action and action will be taken against any police officers found guilty, DGP Said.
